The Dark Knight… why is it so successful? — mind you, as of this writing, it’s still leading the box office race. Do you know why? Because it isn’t a Batman movie at all… yes, you heard me… IT’S NOT!!!
It may sound absurd, but that’s what I actually think. Unlike the previous “Bat movies”, this one is totally different. It would really take you to a whole new level of theme-viewership. Remove the exaggerated comics elements, take away the theatrical angles, get rid of the fancy and unrealistic effects… what do you get? The perfect formula of pure awesomeness.

Yes, it is quite a long movie, so to speak… but I find each scene intriguing that you won’t mind checking your watch or cellphone for that matter. Everything was perfectly laid-out and each twist and revelation were introduced in a well-timed manner. Story wise? Excelente!
But I must say, the passing of Heath Ledger has stirred the curiousity of movie-goers to watch and check his undeniable impressive and fantastic portrayal of Joker. — indeed, you left a good mark to the industry, brother. Rest in peace. The Joker, this time, is literally synonymous to MAD MAN. He really is crazy… insane! — talk about redundancy. And Two-Face? Now, that’s what I’m talking about! That’s the Two-Face I knew… confused and lost. The Tommy Lee Jones version was just out of the character — though the movie where he was in is one of my favorites. As for Christian Bale’s acting, it was ok for me… not totally diggin’ the whole Batman-husky voice thing. It sounded way unnatural and forcibly done. But then again, maybe it’s just me…. wihihi!
So, that’s how I see it… Batman inside a non-Batman movie. Maybe that’s the reason why they came out with a non-traditional title. Just so you know, I’m not a DC fan… just an average Batman fan.
rhardozed hirit:
And I hate the very thought that they’ve beaten the record of Spider-man 3 on its opening weekend — Marvel… do something!!!
nyahahah!!! not really a fan of spiderman!! go batty! eheh
ur absolutely ryt! i love heath’s portrayal of joker.. creepy-weirdo-lunatic rollled into one! murag dili siya…
Posted by shenzee at August 11, 2008, 4:19 pm@Markus: nah… i don't think so. unless they'll kill somebody from the cast hehehe… just kidding. But seriously, katong pagkamatay ni heath ledger para nako ang nag-attract sa mga tawo, don't you think? Batman is just too big for Iron Man pd. And avengers… hmmm… atbangan pd sila og justice league na puro "legend" ang roster. but then again… we'll never know until these movies come out…
@shen: hilom! hehehe… bilib dud nuon ko sa iya performance diri… no wonder news kau ang dark knight…
Posted by rhardo at August 11, 2008, 4:20 pmBitaw. Whether people admit it or not, kusog jud ang impact sa pagkamatay ni Ledger. Honestly, ako pud. Di man ko interested sa una then the guy died and i thought “i better check that one out” heheheh
Posted by Planet Markus at August 11, 2008, 4:37 pmAnyways.. Definitely looking forward to Avengers
I’ll watch that for sure. Its a childhood dream come true for me. I have a Capt.America costume when I was a kid.
@Markus: Yeah… Avengers would surely be one ass-kicking movie… all Marvel needs is a good director, interesting overall plot and a great cast.
Posted by rhardo at August 11, 2008, 4:50 pmHmmm…usa pud na nga angle. But minus the fact that Ledger died, he was still smashing in the movie. He was really someone with a mental problem! Good grief! I had chills whlile I watched him.
Two-faced? Amazing effects again! I love the way they concealed the other half of his face up to the last moment. And Ledger in a nurse’s uniform was the icing on the cake! hahaha
BTW, I thought MG was better than KH as Rachel Dawes.
What a hirit! Hahahah… You think Iron Man 2 or the Avengers movie can beat Dark Knight?.. Hhhmmm..
